Have you ever read a book that completely changed your life?

It's amazing that a few words typed out on paper can challenge the way we think and allow us to see things from a new perspective. As we embark on a journey of self-awareness and personal development, it's important to continue to read books that force us to think differently, that cause us to pause and contemplate life in a different way.

I've read "The Universe Has Your Back" more than any other book I've ever owned. When I'm starting to doubt myself or the universe I pick up this book for a good kick in the ass. Gabby Bernstein is a spiritual guru who teaches us, in this book, that the key to getting the life you want is a combination of meditation, effort and having an inherent belief that what you want is going to happen to you. In short, if you have never been introduced to the Law of Attraction, then this is a great book for you to start with.

What to Say When You Talk to Your Self by Shad Helmstetter

I don't know about you, but I am my own worst enemy. There is so much negative self-talk going on in my head that I deserve detention for the amount of bullying I've inflicted on myself. "What to say when you talk to yourself" was very eye-opening in that, unlike your traditional personal development advice, this advice is actually based in science. Did you know that your brain doesn't know the difference between seeing an actual sunset or imagining one? Think about that. It means you can literally tell your brain anything and it will believe it. Which means when you tell yourself that you are fat and worthless, your brain has no option but to believe it. Those of you who have a desire to break out and be creative and yet find yourself cowering to your inner mean girl of self-doubt and fear. In this book, the author encourages you to step beyond that fear and create what you are compelled to create despite the fact that you are shaking in your booties. Do it because you love the process. Create because you need to stop living a life that is limited by your comfort zone.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson

Spoiler Alert: There is a lot of colorful language in this book. BUT if you don't mind a few eff bombs for emphasis then you will love "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck". Now the title may be a bit counterintuitive because in the book you will learn that you actually SHOULD give a fuck...but only to the things that are important to you. And it's your job to decide which elements of your life deserve fucks or not. Once you determine where you're putting your fucks, then my friends, you will live a life without the bullshit fuckery.
